Marking the Anniversary...

Today is the 36th Anniversary of the infamous Supreme Court decision in the case of "Roe vs. Wade," which legalized abortion in the United States. Since then, in this country alone, over 1,000,000 abortions have taken place each year, which amounts to 1 in 3 babies (people) who were and are never given the opportunity to live like you and me. Even more women and men are left to suffer the loss of the child they never gave birth to.

Each year, the anniversary is marked by the Annual March for Life in Washington D.C., and since 2005 by the West Coast Walk for Life in San Francisco, which will take place this year on January 24th. Join the walk this Saturday, starting at 11:00am in Justin Herman Plaza on the Embarcadero!

The main purpose of these peaceful demonstrations is to witness to the truth that abortion hurts women, men, and the babies who's lives are taken in the name of "choice." The marchers in these walks are there to proclaim the truth that "abortion does violence to women and to their children, both physically and emotionally. It harms women and men; it divides families and society. Women--and all people--deserve better than abortion."

Thanks for your post.. I was listening to the news on my way to work today and was becoming more and more upset. It make s me sick how the media always seems, somewhat lopsidedly, to interview a woman who thinks murder is a "right" and is essential to "women's health". Get this: I heard that Obama plans on changing policy so the foreign health aid could be given for abortions - the current policy is called the "Mexico City policy" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico_City_Policy
I hope others will pray with me for conversion of hearts and an opening of eyes to the truth.

Pray for Obama's conversion. This is what he said today:

"On this anniversary, we must also recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights and opportunities as our sons: the chance to attain a world-class education; to have fulfilling careers in any industry; to be treated fairly and paid equally for their work and to have no limits on their dreams," Obama said. "That is what I want for women everywhere."

"While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue, no matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion and support women and families in the choices they make," Obama said. "To accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable contraception, accurate health information and preventative services."

200,000 pro-life marchers in Washington and zero media coverage. That's just crazy!
